With the end of August comes the end of summer, and truthfully, that always makes me a little sad. Summer's my favorite season - the weather, the vibe, the clothing - it's tough to give it up to Pumpkin Spice Lattes and pants (FYI I really don't like wearing pants). Luckily, I live in California, so the summer lasts a bit longer where I live. And with that, I can still get away with crop tops and skirts with slits like this set from Band of Gypsies.
as younger, I always thought a "sexy" outfit had to be skintight, but pieces like this definitely prove the opposite. It's all about the silhouette: the low neckline, cropped fit, and high side slit completely cancel out the frumpiness of the loose fit.
I wore this outfit on my first day in Belize (photo diary coming soon), and while it was definitely way too hot to be sporting this look in Central America, I could see this fit working for a warm fall day out with boots or a night out with heels.
Since I'm trying to hold on to summer for as long as I can, I paired this look with beachy accessories, a flat top wool hat and bare feet.
All I know is, I know that I'll get a lot of use out of this two piece until summer really does come to an end.
