I recently tested out a used Canon Sure Shot AF35M II 35mm film camera with some expired Fujicolor Super HQ 200 and here’s how some of the photos turned out! (Full disclosure: this expired film was gifted to me a long time ago so I don’t know what the expiry date actually was, but I believe it was about 20 years old. I probably should have rated this film stock at ISO 50 since the general rule of thumb is to overexpose by one stop by every decade the film is out of date, but I wasn’t 100% how old this was, so I didn’t bother and just focused on testing the mechanisms of my camera). Most of these shots are just lighting tests around my apartment, but the heavy grain and faded/pastel colors produced some interesting photos. These were scanned with the Epson Perfection V600 and manually inverted in Lightroom (here’s the tutorial for how I invert my film negatives).
