I've never been one for patterns, really. Until now.
I love a black monochromatic outfit as much as the next girl, but since I've started cataloguing my outfits on Instagram, I've found myself drawn to more color and patterns lately. At first I didn't think much of it, but on second thought - isn't personal style supposed to evolve? Getting stuck in old habits is a guaranteed path towards stunting growth. We're supposed to try new things. Figure out what we like - what we don't.
November was a crazy month for me, and now that we're in December, I find myself embracing change and letting go of some things that I thought I had to hold on to. Maybe all of this doesn't seem like it applies to fashion, but as corny as it is - style is important to me. It's how I express myself without having to speak or write or caption. Making the jump from singular solids to conflicting patterns (and colors other than black) may not be a huge adjustment for some, but it's a start for me.
