It never seems enough to just donate and then go about the day (especially when people take advantage of worldwide outrage to create charity scams), but I wanted to share a few places I personally donated to in regards to the war in Ukraine. These days I’ve been on the lookout for more international aid organizations that I can donate regularly to no matter what the cause, but as always - please do your own research - these are just the few I felt comfortable donating to.
Global Empowerment Mission (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 as a first responder to global disasters). I’ve been following along their disaster relief efforts on Instagram/their website and appreciate their transparency about what kind of aid they’re providing and what their financials are. You can take a detailed look for yourself here.
UNICEF (The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children and mothers in countries that had been devastated by World War II.) Read more about their appeal to protect children in Ukraine and donate here.
International Medical Corps (a nonprofit with no political or religious affiliation dedicated to relief organization through medical services, training, relief and development programs). Linking their info here.
