Maybe I’m just vibing off the “New Year energy” in the air, but something feels different about 2024. While it’s likely that my positive attitude towards 2024 is due to the extreme contrast of 2023 (me: deep in grief and too in denial to make any progress regarding any of my long-term life goals), I’ve been approaching the start of the year with a plan to manifest the direction I’d like my life to take. New Year’s resolutions have never been my thing; I’ve always been a big dreamer and the type of person that’s unwilling to put a spotlight on my big dreams in case they don’t come true. Well, I’m leaving that mindset in 2023. There’s a lot of personal reasons for this change, but the most prominent reason is that so many things in my life have shifted to a point where it’s impossible for me not to adapt.
For New Year’s Eve, my friends and I decided to make 2024 vision boards for the first time. We could have gone the digital route, but I ended up finding a Vision Board Book on Amazon at the last second for us to use and I’m so happy that I did! Initially my plan was to buy some old magazines for us to cut up “scrapbook-style“, but my Amazon suggestions were good to me and offered me an easier way via this $23 clip art book with over 800+ high-quality images visualizing health, wealth, career travel, family, relationships, as well as inspirational quotes. Between the three of us, there were more than enough images for each of us to paste to our 14”x22” poster boards (especially considering that we’re all at very different places in our lives at the moment) and the sharing aspect made for great conversation. I have my vision board below if you’d like to take a look or save it for yourself. Otherwise, what are your thoughts on vision boards? Have you made one or will you be making one for this year?
